Current Employment Opportunities with Canal Market District

Enterprise Hub Manager

In summer 2017 we will launch a pilot project in partnership with The Ohio State Newark and Central Ohio Technical College to determine the feasibility of launching a full-scale food processing hub that would supply local foods to institutional customers. The pilot project will focus on processing locally grown produce for institutional customers inside Licking County. Our long-term vision is to create a Food Enterprise Hub that supplies healthy, local foods with minimal processing to institutions and restaurants. In addition, we envision offering co-pack/co-man for local farmers under private labels and commissary kitchen space to local food entrepreneurs.

This is a unique opportunity to help launch a new venture that links local, small farms to large institutional markets. The position has significant room for growth and requires an individual with an entrepreneurial outlook and the drive to “make things work.” The successful candidate will have the ability to manage the day to day work of food processing while maintaining a broad, mission-driven outlook.
